:: Our European Empowerment Initiative
Every year Heathcote International hosts an exciting and prestigious international training conference, for all general managers and human resource managers, working in Zoos, Theme Parks and Leisure Parks throughout Europe.
The aim of the conference is to provide participants with practical methods to develop the competitiveness and profitability of their companies, using specific empowerment techniques. In particular, the European Empowerment Initiative enables participants to:
- empower themselves
- empower their colleagues and workforce
- empower their organisation
As part of the expert training provided, participants become involved in the adaptation of empowerment methods, to meet the specific needs of their own Zoo, Theme Park or Leisure Park. This is based on an understanding of the theoretical models of empowerment and how these ideas translate into empowerment in practice. Participants also have the opportunity to participate in a case study analysis of a European Zoo, Theme Park or Leisure Park and use practical research techniques, to identify examples of good practice in empowerment.
All participants are provided with access to individual consultation and management advice, and other practical methods to develop and sustain empowerment in practice.
The "European Empowerment Initiative" Package
The training package enables all participants to:
- Develop a full understanding of the concept of empowerment
- Develop a practical understanding of empowerment in practice
- Develop individual ideas and methods, to develop empowerment within their own company, by adapting flexible models of good practice
- Develop the skills to deliver practical staff development training, to empower their colleagues and company employees
- Develop practical techniques in the analysis and evaluation of empowerment methods
- Develop an understanding of empowerment as a "moving model"
- Develop methods to sustain empowerment
- Access a wealth of human resource development material
